Technical Officer - Test Fixture Fabrication (m/f/d)

We are currently seeking talented and motivated candidates to join our Test Engineering Department for test fixture fabrication. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing test adapters for PCBA and wire harness testing, involving both electronic and mechanical tasks.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on problem solver with excellent analytical and organizational skills, and a strong mechanical engineering background.

Responsibilities

  • Develop test adaptors for In-Circuit and Functional Test systems.
  • Implement stand-alone test systems, including fabrication and wiring.
  • Coordinate with the workshop to complete mechanical tasks related to test system development.
  • Communicate with Engineering Teams at other Variosystems sites regarding test fixture fabrication tasks.

 

 

Technical Skills

  • Ability to convert concepts into working prototypes.
  • Ability to produce engineering drawings for fabrication.
  • Good understanding of mechanical components such as bearings, fasteners, pneumatics, linear guides, etc.
  • Basic ability to read mechanical drawings and 2D/3D CAD prints.
  • Experience with workshop tools including drilling, tapping, cutting, and milling.
  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing methods, and prototyping.
  • Ability to analyze failures and improve mechanical designs.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic systems (cylinders, valves, fittings) will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to design mechanical parts, assemblies, and test fixtures.
  • Exposure to PCBA testing, test jigs, or automation will be considered as a major advantage.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum NVQ Level 5 or an equivalent qualification in the Mechanical Engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of one year of hands-on experience in relevant technical or operational tasks.
