Artificial Intelligence as the key topic at Impulstag 2024

On September 19, 2024, Variosystems invited customers and partners to Steinach to discuss the latest trends in the electronics industry. The main focus was on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its potential through early integration into global networks.

Professor Siegfried Handschuh from the University of St.Gallen introduced generative AI and explored its applications for companies. Experts from Renesas Electronics showcased specific use cases, demonstrating how AI can optimize development processes and meet security requirements under the EU’s new Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).

The Swiss start-up Compremium AG presented its innovative medical technology products, which are even used on the ISS. Thanks to its partnership with Variosystems, two new products were developed and multiple updates were implemented within a year.

Early involvement of Variosystems in product development brought significant advantages to Durst AG, a global specialist in digital printing. Variosystems assisted in the realization of new assemblies, helping to minimize risks and optimize costs

Variosystems illustrated how multinational clients benefit from its global network and harmonized processes. The new locations in Mendrisio and Gruiu doubled the production capacity in Europe and strengthened engineering expertise. COO Stefan Walther emphasized the importance of regional supply chains and customer organizations, particularly in the context of the re- and nearshoring trends in the USA and EU.
